Alyssa & Jacob // Sylvan Lake Wedding

Meet Alyssa and Jacob! These guys had the sweetest wedding. We loved being able to capture the day and all the special moments. Check out all of their wedding photos here (CLICK ME)! Photos were taken by our lovely associate photographer Michele Snyder!

The day started with Alyssa and her girls getting ready at her family’s home on Sylvan lake. All of the bridesmaids wore different styles of dresses, but were all the same fuchsia purple. The rich tones of the dresses and flowers popped so beautifully against the greens of the outdoor setting this day. Alyssa’s Maid of Honor helped her into her dress. The strapless, a-line gown with lace detail fit Alyssa’s personality beautifully – She looked stunning! After taking some photos of Alyssa with her bridesmaids (on the dock and boat of course) and Jacob with his groomsmen, everyone took a boat ride to Boy Scout Island at the center of Sylvan Lake for the ceremony.

At the top of the hill in the woods of Boy Scout Island, Alyssa had a first look with her dad. It was so sweet… Many happy tears! Once the groomsmen arrived by boat on the island and everyone took their seats in the beautiful outdoor chapel, the ceremony began! And just like that, the two were married! After the ceremony, we took Alyssa and Jacob to the top of the hill for some portraits, right above where they had just gotten married. We then took a boat back to the main land for some bridal party photos at the Gene Stratton-Porter Cabin – The gardens there were so beautiful!

Then it was officially party time! The reception was at the Kendallville Event Center. There was a lovely shared toast from the best man and maid of honor (They’re married too) where happy tears were definitely involved! There was cake cutting, dancing, good music, and lots and lots of laughs! The cherry on top was a fun glow-stick send off.

We were so happy to capture the day and be a part of Alyssa and Jacob’s wedding. Absolutely beautiful day, amazing people, and great memories! Best of wishes to the both of you!

Cheers,
-Dustin & Corynn
