Samantha & Josh // Pokagon Wedding

Samantha and Josh are married! It was a beautiful fall day for a wedding. Everything about their big day was calm, fun, and unique to them as a family. Here are some more details about their special day and photos to match! Just wait until you see pictures of their adorable 1 year old son…

The whole day was at Pokagon State Park and the beautiful Potawatomi Inn on Lake James. The trees were already turning colors and the air was chilly – perfect weather for Samatha! She didn’t want a hot wedding day. Samantha was one of the best brides we’ve had the pleasure to work with – laid back, not worried about every detail of the day, and just happy to be around the people she loves. That said, we thought it was so special when Samantha got excited about her wedding dress. She LOVED it. It was sweet to see her “bride out” about this one-of-kind detail! After getting ready and spending some time with her bridesmaids and adorable flower girl, Samantha and Josh had there first look (in the beautiful autumn woods, of course). It was as sweet as it can get folks, especially when they brought their 1-year old son Liam into the moment. Gah. This made us miss our babies that were with our family for the day!

After a super sweet first look and some bridal party photos, it was ceremony time! These guys got married on the patio of the Potawatomi Inn overlooking the lake – It was beautiful. After Samantha walked down the aisle, she and Josh completed a sand ceremony to symbolize their unity in marriage. The two kissed and were married! We shot some family portraits after the ceremony than took Samantha and Josh for the most epic sunset portrait on the dock. It was chilly, but these two persevered and stuck with us! What happened next? Reception time!

Once everyone was seated in the reception hall at the Inn, Samantha, Josh, and their bridal party made their entrances! There were succulent themed cupcakes and little succulent wedding favors for guests – they were so cute! The night included sweet toasts, yummy cake (the kids were very excited about that), and a lot of dancing (the kids were also very excited about this). We loved having the opportunity to capture all of the moments of your wedding day. We wish you guys the happiest marriage!

Cheers,
-Dustin & Corynn
