If you’ve read Hailie and Ashton’s engagement blog, you’d know that we’ve known Hailie for quite a while. We first met her while she worked with the amazing Rose’s Bouquets (a florist we see at weddings all the time), then continued to know her through her nonprofit work with the Mad Anthony Hope House and Habitat for Humanity (both of which we have have photographed). So you can imagine our excitement when she and Ashton decided to have us capture their wedding day. If you haven’t read their engagement blog, click here (CLICK ME)!

Both Hailie and Ashton got ready at the resort on the morning of their wedding. After the bridesmaids got into their dresses, it was time for Hailie to get in hers. Each of the bridesmaids’ dresses were a different shade of purple, so everyone had their own special color. Hailie’s dress was from One Fine Day Bridal and Gown Boutique in Fort Wayne. They truly make their brides look and feel like princesses, and Hailie was no exception. Happy tears and excitement filled the room as she got into her dress. Hailie’s bridesmaids helped her with final details and she was ready to walk down the aisle! The groomsmen wore a more casual look with suspenders. It’s a good thing too because it happened to be super hot on their wedding day! Ashton wore a suit jacket for the ceremony and some photos, but not for long because it was so hot!

Sometime during the morning during getting ready, all of the floral arrangements for the day were delivered. The amazing Trista Rose from Rose’s Bouquets provided all of the flowers for the day, including the stunning arrangements on the wedding archway. As you can see from the photos, every floral arrangement and bouquet was perfect in every way!

Before the ceremony, we walked over to the beautiful golf course on the resort for some photos and first looks! Hailie wanted to do a first look with her dad and an additional first look with her brother. It’s hard to describe how first looks go, so we let the pictures do the talking (See below). While Hailie rested in the air conditioning before the ceremony, we took Ashton and his groomsmen out on the golf course as well for some photos too! Then it was time for the ceremony.

The ceremony was outside the resort over looking the beautiful lake. It was pretty hot that day, but there was a gorgeous blue sky with billowing white puffy clouds. It was so picturesque! After guests and family found their seats, the wedding party walked down the aisle. Ashton waited patiently to see Hailie. Moments later, Hailie and her dad exited the resort and walked down towards the aisle. Ashton and Hailie were all smiles! After Hailie’s dad gave her away, Hailie and Ashton exchanged vows, exchanged rings, tied a cord of three strands, and kissed! After months of stress and planning and replanning due to covid-19, they were finally husband and wife.

After the super sweet ceremony, we moved the arch over to a nice patch of shade for all of the family photos. Then we took the whole wedding party out on the golf course for some photos all together and some portraits of the newly weds. The golf course provided a gorgeous tree lined backdrop for photos and the purple bridesmaids dresses and gorgeous flowers popped against all of the green! It was such a nice place to photograph Hailie and Ashton’s wedding day! After photos, it was finally time to party!

Everyone headed inside the resort for the reception. When you walked in, it felt like you were stepping in to the past. It gave off speakeasy vibes and was absolutely timeless. there were toasts, first dances, cake cutting, and some awesome awesome dancing. At some point during the reception, we snuck Hailie and Ashton out to do some awesome sunset photos together. Hailie even braved the water for some sunset bridal portraits. The rest of the evening consisted of celebrating and dancing with friends and family. It was one heck of a day to capture!

We loved getting to photograph these two at the beautiful Cold Springs Resort. The timeless venue paired with this timeless couple made for one special day. To Hailie and Ashton ,we hope you love your wedding photos and look back on your day fondly. We love you guys and cant wait to photograph you guys again in the future! Congrats!

conclusion:

Cheers,
– Dustin & Corynn
