Amara and Jay’s wedding was so sweet! We have known these guys since high school, so we were so excited to be their photographers at their downtown Fort Wayne Empyrean wedding!

Family is very important to Amara and Jay. It seemed every moment of the day somehow included a family member, making it a very, very special day. The bridal party included family only and one very close friend! These two wanted a fun day – and it was! Everyone danced their way up and down the aisle and all the way through the reception. It seemed the dancing never stopped… and we were SO okay with that!

The ceremony was very sweet – as family members walked down the aisle, each carried a flower to place in vases near the altar in remembrance of family members who passed away and could not join them on this special day. During the vows and exchange of rings, Amara gifted Jay with a completely custom comic book telling their story. These two are the sweetest nerdy couple we’ve worked with, and it was so cool watching them make promises together and celebrate with an awesome party.

The forecast was not looking the best going into the wedding day, however, we had the perfect window of dry weather for pictures outside! After pictures of the bridal party outside, we headed upstairs to the top floor of the Empyrean for the reception!

Speaking of reception, WHAT A PARTY! After hearing a very touching prayer done by Amara’s brother and eating a delicious Empyrean meal, guests enjoyed the dance floor…. All evening long! We saw a side of Jay we had never seen before. Any time we had spoken to Jay in the past, he seemed like a quiet, reserved person. While this may have appeared to be true, let us tell you that this guy is an animal on the dance floor! In fact, nearly every guest was on their feet and dancing the whole night. For those who didn’t want to dance as much, Amara and Jay provided board games at every table and an entire other room filled with board games to entertain other guests. It was awesome seeing all the personal touches Amara and Jay put into their wedding! During the reception, Amara’s brother sang at the reception. It was a very special moment for their whole family and made for a memorable day!

Because their wedding day was at the tailend of Fort Wayne’s Three Rivers Festival, Amara, Jay, and guests were treated to a beautiful firework show at the end of the night. We loved being a part of Amara and Jay’s Empyrean wedding. Best of luck to you both!
