We’ve captured many weddings over the years together, so we’ve had the opportunity to visit and work with the staff at a variety of venues throughout Fort Wayne and beyond. We see why couples spend so much time researching their venue – It can set the tone of the entire day! If you’re looking for a country club setting, here are our Top 3 Fort Wayne Country Club recommendations in the area.

Fort Wayne Country Club
The Fort Wayne Country Club offers a setting that can accommodate both an intimate or large-scale event. It’s one of our personal favorites because of all the amenities they offer. The venue itself is beautiful both indoor and out. The party rooms overlook the well-manicured golf course. We also love the rooms they make available for the bride, groom and their parties to get ready. We’ve also found that the food was very good. Weddings are all about the details, so if you have a beautiful backdrop paired with really nice touches Fort Wayne Country Club offers, then it’s a win in our book. Another awesome advantage of hosting your wedding here is that you get to work with their awesome wedding coordinator, Jacqueline Adams. Not many wedding venues come with a day-of coordinator, especially not one as awesome as Jacqueline!

Sycamore Hills Golf Club
The Sycamore Hills Golf Club works to coordinate with your vendors. They have an entire staff dedicated to ensure that every detail of your big day is taken into account. That makes our job easier as well and helps the entire day go more smoothly. What we love about the reception hall are the floor to ceiling windows that offer great natural light into the room. It even has a large outdoor wedding space overlooking the water that can be used for the ceremony and added reception space. This exclusive golf club offers beauty and organization to any wedding day!

Orchard Ridge Country Club
What’s great about Orchard Ridge Country Club are the variety of locations throughout the whole property that are picture-worthy! Not only can you see the stunning golf course view from different locations on-site, but there’s an abundance of greenery, a lovely covered bridge and even a water feature that we can use in your wedding portraits. If you chose Orchard Ridge Country club as your wedding day venue, you get to work with the Lori Hoeppner, the day-of wedding coordinator.

These are our top 3 Fort Wayne Country Club venues. Our experience shooting weddings has given us a unique perspective of all the details that go into your big day, so let us help you plan! As we kick off another year of capturing love stories, Lucy and Zach’s elegantly minimalistic Indianapolis wedding day was a great start to the year. Throughout our time as wedding photographers, we’ve seen a lot of couples in love, and Lucy and Zach were just that. Their love and connection is so strong, and made the day that much better. Being Indiana wedding photographers, we love working with locals just like these two! Although the weather was a little cold these two were great sports and braved the crazy temperatures.
First Look with Lucy’s Dad
Up first on this minimalistic Indianapolis wedding was a first look with Lucy’s Dad. First looks are always incredible emotional, and this one was just that. The look of pride and joy on Lucy’s father’s face was evident and something so sweet. As parents ourselves, these are moments that are so bittersweet! We love being apart of them, but aren’t in any hurry to experience them ourselves! Luckily our kids are super young – so we’ve got some time to prepare! Nevertheless, we always love when our couples create moments like this for their parents. Next, was Lucy and Zach’s special moment.
First Touch at Minimalistic Indianapolis Wedding
Lucy and Zach are college sweethearts, having met at Purdue University, so this was a long awaited day for the couple. Instead of a traditional first look, the two decided to share a simple first touch. They wouldn’t see one another until they walked down the aisle, but were able to have a few moments together before their life-changing event took place! If a first look isn’t your vibe on your day, consider a first touch! We’ll stage you in a way so you won’t see one another until you’re ready, but you’ll get those special moments together.
An Elegant Affair
Later, it was time for the couple’s elegant ceremony. Zach was emotional as he saw Lucy walk down the aisle in her wedding dress. Lucy was all smiles, as she walked towards her soon to be husband. It was a beautiful day! After they said, “I do” we took the couple and the bridal party outside for some bridal party portraits! We were able to get some fun pictures before their evening reception. Lucy and Zach shared an intimate cake cutting, and later danced, Lucy with her dad, and Zach with his mom! After some fun, the couple had guests help with a sparkler exit as they left as husband and wife!

I’ve been a Fort Wayne wedding photographer for the quite some time, so I’ve been to hundreds of weddings and I know what it’s like when the phones come out. Things can get a little crazy for your photographer as we’re trying to capture your big moments, while avoiding everyone’s iPhones. Although family members always have the best intentions, sometimes technology gets in the way of your special day. So let’s talk about how it might look at your possibly unplugged wedding.

Wedding Photography Isn’t Cheap!
You’ve spent time, energy, and money looking for just the right person and style to fit your wedding photography needs. There’s nothing worse than having your aunt post her cell-phone quality pictures online or getting in the way of your photographer getting that perfect shot. Your guests may want to celebrate you both and your big day by posting the photos that they take, but that ruins the grand reveal of your photos later! Your guests are not taking photos when they’re unplugged from technology, which allows for even better, in the moment reactions. We want everyone to be present and enjoy your dream day, not trying to record the ceremony, or posting on Facebook.

No One is Stealing Your Thunder
You deserve to share certain life moments first, including your dream Fort Wayne wedding day. The congratulations can come after, but this moment only happens once, and it should be yours to share! Therefore, you should make the first posts about becoming a spouse, and marrying your person. You know it’s better if you make the announcement of your commitment to one another the way you want it to be made. At the same time, your guests can just enjoy watching the happiness in your eyes.

Be Present at Your Unplugged Wedding
There’s nothing like being focused in the present. It’s easier to remember these beautiful moments looking through your own eyes, unplugged from the world, than through a screen. Those who you want there and want to be there are! So let everyone focus their attention on one of the two people that matter the most on that day, YOU!

As a Fort Wayne wedding photographer we have noticed that getting ready photos have gained popularity over the years. And rightfully so! Capturing the essence of the wedding day in photos is a really great way to create lasting memories. You can have photos of just the reception and ceremony, but you can really think back to how you felt as you look through the photos of eagerness and excitement of getting ready.

Detail Shots
Detail shots are something we typically do on the side as you’re getting ready. These would include photos of the shoes, the dress, and the ring. They are all the things that are instrumental to you getting ready, but before you actually put them on. It captures everything in pristine condition and staged in an elegant photo. These photos will help you to remember the anticipation and how it felt before you got ready.
The best way to showcase the aesthetic of your wedding day is through detail shots. You can show off your color palette and your carefully chosen items that have sentiment to you. These items can be hard to spot while taking bridals, family portraits, or reception photos. But, you spent a lot of time and effort figuring out what to have at your wedding, so let’s get that on camera!

Bride’s Getting Ready Photos
So many meaningful moments happen in that bridal suite. From your mom zipping up your wedding dress, to your best friends cracking jokes as you get your makeup done. These are memories that you will want to remember for a life time. And by capturing them on camera you will be able to do just that!
Photos With The Bridesmaids
During this time in life, it’s hard to get everyone together. So when you are with your favorite ladies, you deserve to get a great photo of that! You will love to see these photos of a great time with your friends and possibly some really close family members. You’re laughing and chatting it up with all your favorite people making these moments perfect for candid photos. These photos are so much fun and take no effort on your part!

Bridals
One of the most important people on your wedding day is of course the bride! You’ll want some really great photos of you wearing that perfect dress that you spent months trying to find. It’s sometimes a little nerve wracking to get photos of just yourself, but I’ve been around the track more than a few times. I have tips and tricks for you to get the best angles and poses so that you will look timeless and elegant. It’s important to relax and remember how this day makes you feel.
Groom’s Getting Ready Photos
So much happens when the groom is getting ready! And these are memories you will never want to forget. This includes all those candid photos of the groom with his groomsmen laughing and joking around. In addition, I will get those detail shots of the groom’s shoes, watch, tie and any other little things that are meaningful to him.

Getting ready photos are so much fun and make such a difference in your wedding album. They help to tell the entire story of your wedding day from start to finish. And I promise you will love looking back on all those little details. Reach out and let’s talk about what details from your wedding day will the most important to capture!

One of my favorite things about being an Indianapolis wedding photographer is getting to shoot at some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the area. And this Bluffs at Conner Prairie winter wedding was no exception! The venue features a gorgeous vaulted ceiling with dark beams and tall windows. Making it the perfect indoor winter wedding venue for any couple, but especially Sarah and Mitchell! Their wedding day will be one I never forget.

Winter Wedding Inspiration
Sarah and Mitchell were married in February, which can be pretty cold in Indiana. But luckily, the weather was incredible for a late winter wedding! Leaning into the winter aesthetic with their decor and invitations, the couple opted for a deep burgundy and light pink color palette. This worked beautifully with their church ceremony and The Bluff at Conner Prairie winter wedding reception.

Because the weather was so perfect for a winter wedding, we were able to go outside to capture Sarah and Mitchell’s bridals. Working with the architecture and landscaping is something I love to do with all of my couples! It is a way to feature your wedding venue and the details that you fell in love with. Making your wedding album even more sentimental with every picture!

The Bluffs At Conner Prairie Winter Wedding Reception
This wedding reception was so lovely. Sarah and Mitchell tied in their color palette into their custom place cards, two tier wedding cake, and every other detail you could imagine! Everything tied in so seamlessly with their venue. This Bluffs at Conner Prairie winter wedding was traditional, classy and so timeless.

One of my favorite parts of the night has to have been Sarah and Mitchell’s first dance as husband and wife. Their tender love and connection with each other really shines through on the dance floor. It’s moments like these that make me even more grateful and honored to be part of my couples wedding days. It really is a privilege to capture moments like these.

Congratulation Sarah and Mitchell!
Cheers!

You get to see a lot of wedding trends as a Fort Wayne wedding photographer. And micro weddings are starting to be a thing of the past with bigger weddings coming back onto the scene! Destinations as well as the parties are about to get a major upgrade. Because of this, there’s a lot to cover here. So if you’ve been looking for spring wedding inspiration, I’ve got you covered!

Venues For Fort Wayne Spring Wedding Inspiration
There are so many awesome wedding venues in Fort Wayne! Each with it’s own unique charm and spaces. When looking for your Fort Wayne wedding venue for a Spring wedding consider asking these questions to be sure you will be able to achieve the overall aesthetic of your dream wedding!
- What spaces are included in the venue? Do you rent out specific rooms, or is the entire venue yours for the day?
- Ask about lighting! Which rooms have the best lighting and at what times. Be mindful or the lighting in addition to the views.
- What are the limits for your decor? Is this a blank space for you to create your dream aesthetic, or are there items that will not be moved and must be incorporated in your wedding day?
- If you are planning an outdoor Spring wedding, what are the usable outdoor spaces? Is there a back up if the weather is poor?
- Does this venue require you book specific vendors, do they provide seating and tables, get a list of everything that is included and restricted.

Fort Wayne Spring Wedding Florals
Consider opting for more greenery in your wedding decor and bouquets! This is a trend that was originally caused by a flower shortage, but is very elegant and timeless. Greenery is so beautiful especially in the hands of an experienced florist. Don’t be afraid to ask your wedding florist is able to accomplish with greenery. Look into their portfolio and bring all the Fort Wayne spring wedding inspiration you have for your wedding florals!

Spring Wedding Colors
Neutrals are here to stay, but we are seeing more and more brides opt for a pop of color. It’s so easy to put together a palette using colors that are timeless and neutral. But, it’s also important to have that one color to set you apart. Just as with florals, one color is all it takes! You can strategically place that color amidst all the beige and white, such as in the floral arrangement or in a backdrop!
