When preparing for your surprise proposal it’s important to get the details planned and specific to them. What does your partner like? Ask them specific questions to help make the process even easier. How would you describe ‘perfect happiness’?” Or maybe something more specific like, “What one thing would most help us grow as a couple if we did it together?” This can be anything from “being on vacation with my family” to “eating macaroni & cheese every day.” The more specific the better!

Ask anyone who knows both of you well: family members, close friends (even besties), coworkers, etc., for suggestions on where to go or what to do that would be perfect for your proposal idea. They may even have some great ideas themselves! You can also ask them how they feel about different locations/activities—maybe there’s somewhere special that might mean something extra special to them as a couple?

If you’re marrying someone in the holiday season, don’t be afraid to ask family members for help. They can help with decorations, food, and even invite some friends and coworkers. The more people involved in your surprise (and the more genuine their reactions are), the better! It’s Time to Party After Your Surprise Proposal

After you have popped the question, celebrate with a special dinner, dessert or party with family and friends. This is a great way to get the wedding season off to a fun start. Have the proposal filmed and share it with family and friends! Have a special dessert prepared for afterwards (maybe even made by you). Make a toast to the couple once everyone is gathered together. Give them time to enjoy each other’s company before heading out for dinner. We suggest going to their favorite restaurant or bar—or better yet, plan something special like an overnight stay in Fort Wayne!
