Julie & Justin // Empyrean Christmas Wedding

Julie and Justin are married! You may remember these two from their adorable Concordia Seminary engagement session over the summer. It was the session that ended with a gorgeous rainbow! If not, click here to learn more about these two’s engagement (CLICK ME)! Read on for details about this sweet Empyrean Christmas wedding and see our favorite photos…

The day’s events all took place at the incredible Empyrean in downtown Fort Wayne. The venue practically sits at the top of the city, with floor to ceiling views for miles. It really is Fort Wayne’s “wow” venue!! Julie, her daughter Chloe, her mom, and her sister got ready in the bridal suite at the Empyrean. It’s spacious and full of natural light (aka, the perfect getting ready space). Julie got her dress from the awesome I Do Bridal on Coldwater Road – It was stunning! Both Julie’s mom and daughter helped her into her dress. We love to imagine what our photos will be used for in the future when photographing someone’s wedding… We have a feeling these getting ready photos might be recreated someday!

Because of COVID-19, Julie and Justin decided to postpone the large reception with friends and family until next year. They still wanted to hold the ceremony on their original date however, because the date itself is very special to them. On December 19th last year, Justin was down on one knee proposing! We are so glad that Julie and Justin were able to get married on such a special date, surrounded by their immediate families.

After Julie was completely dressed from head to toe in her full bridal look, it was time for the ceremony! This small intimate was so sweet. There were so many sweet, genuine laughs that made the whole experience memorable for everyone. Although this is not what Julie and Justin had planned for their wedding day, they truly made the most of it and celebrated as if nothing had changed. After some sweet vows and the exchange of some wedding bands, Julie and Justin kissed and were officially husband and wife.

Before the family dinner, we took Julie, Justin, and their wedding party of 2 (who were both siblings) outside for some portraits. Because it wasn’t too cold, we were able to take our time and really make the most of the portrait time for these two. And boy, were they easy to photograph. Real smiles, real love, and a really good time.

After portraits, the night ended with a sweet dinner between both Julie and Justin’s immediate family and everyone talked about their excitement for next year. Empyrean Designs decked out the large table in beautiful holiday decor – It was so stunning! Empyrean served a delicious three course meal and everyone enjoyed the company of family. After dinner, because it wasn’t too cold, we took Julie, Justin, and their daughter Chloe outside for some night portraits. We think these are our favorite photos from the day!

Like Julie, Justin, and their families, we are so excited for their Empyrean wedding reception next summer! We loved photographing this sweet Empyrean Christmas Wedding. We hope you love these photos! See you guys next summer for an awesome dance party…

Cheers,
– Dustin & Corynn
