Introducing the awesome, and now married, Marita and Kyle! Our awesome team of associate photographers captured their beautiful Grand Wayne Center wedding. You’re going to love reading about this awesome day… Get ready for the sweetness below!
Their big day started at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Fort Wayne. Marita and her tribe of bridesmaids got ready in the presidential suite at the Hilton, while Kyle and his groomsmen got ready just down the hall in another suite. The talented Red Stiletto did all of the hair and makeup on the wedding day – Marita and her bridesmaids looked like princesses! While the girls got ready, there was a sweet mimosa bar, snacks of all kinds, and some crazy fun songs playing – It was an awesome space to get ready in! After Marita’s bridesmaids got dressed, Marita slipped into her beautiful, sparkly, a-line wedding dress. Marita’s mom helped her into the dress, while her sisters helped her with the accessories and final details. Meanwhile, Kyle and his groomsmen got dressed and enjoyed the football game! After putting in the veil, Marita headed downstairs in the hotel lobby to have a first look with her dad. Kyle and his groomsmen walked over to the first look location, the Cathedral by the Botanical Conservatory. After Kyle was in place, Marita walked over there, came up behind him, and tapped his shoulder. They met eyes and beamed with happiness.
After their first look and some portrait time, we gathered up the wedding party and took some fun group photos. This is always such an awesome part of the day because we get to see everyone’s personalities emerge as they joke around with each other – It’s a blast. After taking some photos in front of the Cathedral, we walked across the street to capture the wedding party of the botanical conservatory. It was under construction, but we worked around it! After photos here, we went over to the Grand Wayne Center, where the reception would later be held, for some more photos. After this, we all headed over to the first Presbyterian church. Everyone had some time to relax before the ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful! The pews were full of friends and family and the atmosphere was filled with love. One by one, bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle. After everyone was in place, Marita and her dad walked. Marita’s dad gave her away to Kyle, then the ceremony began. These two made some sweet promises, exchanged rings, and kissed! They were officially husband and wife! After the receiving line, we all headed over to Harrison Street for some photos in front of the small courthouse. Then it was time to party!
The reception was at the Grand Wayne Center in downtown Fort Wayne in the Anthony Wayne Hall. It was decorated so beautifully: white fabric and lights hung from the ceiling across the entire hall. The dance floor was set in the middle of the space, with the head tables at the back. After the wedding party’s grand entrance, Marita and Kyle headed to the center of the dance floor to cut their cake, then everyone took a seat for dinner. While dinner was being served, Marita’s maid of honor and sister gave a beautiful toast. It honored their late Grandmother and made nearly everyone in the room tear up. After that sweet toast, Kyle’s best man and long time friend gave a hilarious toast, mentioning quite a few stories that made the whole room laugh. After toasts were the first dances. After some dancing, Marita had a little surprise up her sleeve. She got on the mic and announced “happy birthday” to her sister Caroline and her mom. Marita had a birthday cake for them and made them come out on the dance floor while the DJ played a happy birthday song. After this, the two blew out their candles and all the guests joined them on the dance floor to sing “Sweet Caroline” together. It was a really sweet moment to capture.
Everyone danced the whole night! At some point during the evening, we snuck Marita and Kyle outside the Grand Wayne Center for some night shots. It was a beautiful day and super fun evening.
